Overview

Welcome to “Little England” or Nuwara Eliya, a charming little town nestled in a valley beneath the misty clad Pedru mountain range (Piduruthalaga), set nearly two kilometers high up in the sky with an average annual temperature of 16°C became the prime sanctuary and retreat of the colonial British Civil servants and planters of Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya was then referred to as “Little England” with hill upon hill covered with tea bushes, giving the entire area a lighter green shade and bare patches making it appear as if a green carpet has been laid down, the famous export of “Ceylon” producing the finest of aromatic Ceylon Teas.

Today, Nuwara Eliya retains its old English charm though in a more modern way with mock Tudor style cottages dotting the city slopes alongside the old venerated colonial era buildings. Nuwara Eliya tends to be a sleepy town except for April when a riot of temperate climate flowers bloom and the school children of the area hold parades to welcome the spring, August when the expatriate Sri Lankan workers come to spend a holiday with the loved ones in cooler climes and December to experience the magic of Christmas in a chilly climate along with rare snow fall in the nights only to disappear in the morning tropical sun, just 50 degrees north of the equator!

The Glenfall Reach Hotel , a brand new sixteen room property designed with a mix of colonial and modern architecture boasting timber floors, king size beds and warm down comforters is located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya with a magnificent view of the highest peak of Sri Lanka “Pidurutalagala” and the namesake waterfall of Glenfall falling from the heights of Single tree hill, boasts of the finest temperate climate accommodation with warm cozy rooms, & warm supper served by friendly staff in a cozy basement restaurant.

Dazzling light blue sky intersected by hues of light & dark green on mountain ranges, warm orange curtains keeping out the chilly feeling, beautifully designed modern contemporary rooms with dark timber furnishings state of the art LCD satellite TV, and room service is your cup of tea, then we suggest you reserve your accommodation at The Glenfall Reach Hotel, set amidst a bustling little resort town of Nuwara Eliya on a valley hemmed by three famous mountain ranges.
